Position: Student (SRI) - Biological Sciences - Temporary Full-time 2026-16348 )

Overview

The Biological Sciences Platform (BSP) at the Sunnybrook Research Institute in Toronto, Ontario, offers an opening for a summer student. SRI is a premier academic medical research centre affiliated with the University of Toronto, dedicated to advancing health care through pioneering research. The Summer Student Research Program provides undergraduate students a hospital‑based research experience and showcases a prospective graduate career.

Program Details

The program runs from May to late August and includes regular seminars by leading faculty and a Summer Student Poster Competition in August. Students work under the supervision of a designated scientist on a research or development project, gaining experience in diverse on‑site environments, enhancing technical and analytical competencies, and improving scientific communication skills.

Eligibility

Positions are open to undergraduate students in health sciences, biomedical engineering, life sciences, or related disciplines in a recognized Canadian university program. Award recipients demonstrate high academic standing and a strong interest in research and sciences as a potential future career.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support project work, perform experimental tasks, analyze data, and contribute to scientific communication. Tasks may vary across projects and laboratories.
