Animation Instructor – Summer Camp & School Year Programs
The Canadian Contemporary School of Art (CCSA) is looking for a creative, energetic, and experienced Animation Instructor to join our team. This position is full-time during our Summer Camp programs and part-time during the school year through weekend and after-school classes.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about teaching children and teens, enjoys working in a creative environment, and can inspire students through animation, storytelling, character design, and digital creativity.
Responsibilities- Teach engaging animation classes for children and teens ages 4–16
- Introduce students to animation principles, character design, storyboarding, and visual storytelling
- Guide students through both traditional and digital animation projects
- Plan and prepare creative, age-appropriate lessons
- Support students in developing technical skills while encouraging originality and independent thinking
- Create a positive, safe, and inspiring classroom environment
- Assist with student exhibitions, showcases, and special camp activities
- Collaborate with the CCSA team to maintain high-quality programming
- Background in animation, illustration, digital arts, film, or related field
- Experience teaching or working with children and youth preferred
- Strong drawing and visual storytelling skills
- Familiarity with animation software and digital tools
- Patient, organized, creative, and reliable
- Ability to manage groups of students in both classroom and camp settings
- Robust communication and teamwork skills
- Full-time during Summer Camp (July–August)
- Part-time during the school year (weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends)
- In-person position in Toronto
- Competitive compensation based on experience
Pay:
From $21.00 per hour
- Casual dress
- On-site parking
- East York, ON M4G 2H7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
