Part-Time High School English Teacher

Position Summary

Part‑time High School English Teacher/English Tutor – teaching position at Oxford Learning North York Willowdale.

Unit 302, 121 Willowdale Ave., North York, ON, Toronto, Ontario.

Part‑time; $18.00 – $23.00 per hour.

• Evenings (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm), Monday‑Friday;
  Saturday availability.
• Minimum of 2 evenings per week.
• Commitment through the 2025‑2026 school year (June 30) and possible summer continuation.

• Availability during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm).
• Available for a minimum of 2 evenings/week.
• Commitment through the end of the 2025‑2026 school year (June 30), with the possibility of continuing through the summer.
• In‑person instruction.
• Ability to commute to the designated location – relocation packages are not available.
• Mandatory vulnerable sector screening.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current K‑12 curriculum.

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a K‑12 (or equivalent) level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills; ability to guide students’ understanding.
• Teaching French desirable.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Teaching online and in-person.
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Filling in post‑lesson notes.
• Completing daily student communication updates.
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.
