Responsibilities

Include content creation, monitoring and reporting on program activities, and ensuring adherence to evidence‑based standards and relevant legislation.

  • Deliver and facilitate educational webinars and workshops online and in person to youth, parents, and professionals involved in youths’ lives.
  • Plan and chair online and in‑person meetings with youth groups and professionals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with school boards, community organizations, and youth service providers.
  • Plan, organize, and implement community involvement initiatives in collaboration with other community organizations.
  • Design and implement youth engagement activities.
  • Develop, engage, and support an advisory or partnership committee including youth and adults.
  • Develop and implement effective outreach strategies to engage local communities, meet monthly targets, and increase program reach.
  • Maintain accurate records and statistics related to activities undertaken and outcomes achieved, and provide monthly reports.
  • Create content and support the program’s online content strategy and online presence.
  • Carry out brokerage, advocacy, and resourcing functions and collaborate with youth, parents, Health Promotion Officers, schools, police, and youth service providers to develop and implement service delivery plans ensuring youth have access to programs, services, and opportunities needed for healthy development.
  • Facilitate connections between youth and their neighborhood, and promote awareness of the positive role of youth in the community.
  • Implement and maintain strength‑based and evidence‑based professional standards of practice within the program, ensuring that program service standards align with the Stages of Change model, a Positive Youth Development Framework, and relevant legislation such as the Child and Family Services Act.
  • Attend and promote education and awareness at community meetings and events or fairs.
  • Research and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge regarding prevention and education initiatives and trends.
  • Support the program’s research and development initiatives.
  • Follow and implement the program’s quality assurance measures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
You bring
  • Post‑secondary education in Social Sciences, Public Health, Education, Business, Communication, Marketing, or other related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with outreach activities and strategies is required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in facilitation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the delivery of public health, prevention, and awareness initiatives is an asset.
  • Experience in working with youth, sensitivity, and knowledge in dealing with youth from different cultural and racial backgrounds and youth with special needs.
  • Experience in online communications, social media or interactive engagement, and working with online presentation/meeting platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to draft and design clear and compelling communications.
  • Ability to work in an efficient manner with a high degree of independence.
  • Criminal reference check is required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, travel, and overnight stays.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction principles is an asset.
  • Understanding of principles of learning for both youth and adults is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the community resources in the province of practice is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s curriculum is an asset.
  • Access to a car is an asset.
  • Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity, including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design.
