Description:
This is a hands‑on course that deals with technical and theoretical issues of contemporary painting. The act of painting and the relevance of painting are stressed through both historical and current issues.
Sessional Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2027 - April 30, 2027 (Winter semester)
Compensation- Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.58
- Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $10,699.22
- Sessional Lecturer II: $10,699.22
- Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $11,228.90
* Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum QualificationsMA or MFA (or equivalent graduate degree) required with previous teaching experience. Strong exhibition history and currently exhibiting artist. Applicants may be asked to supply references.
Preferred QualificationsInternationally recognized practice.
ResponsibilitiesPreparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials and platform, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
