Course, designed for native or near‑native speakers of Mandarin Chinese, develops rhetorical knowledge and critical thinking skills for effective academic reading and writing. Students will also receive training in conducting effective formal presentations with supporting media and public‑speaking skills.

- Sessional Lecturer I – $9,997.48 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
- Sessional Lecturer I Long Term – $10,699.22 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
- Sessional Lecturer II – $10,699.22 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
- Sessional Lecturer II Long Term – $10,953.96 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
- Sessional Lecturer III – $10,953.96 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
- Sessional Lecturer III Long Term – $11,228.90 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Ph.D. in Chinese literature or a closely related field is required. Demonstrated knowledge in Chinese literature and experience teaching university‑level Chinese academic writing courses are required. (Near‑)native fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required.
Preferred qualifications- Demonstrated excellence in teaching this course or a closely related university‑level course is preferred.
- Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a University credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; out‑of‑class interactions with students via e‑mail and office hours; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; order all necessary readings.
