This teaching position emphasizes individualized support and the integration of Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin) language skills within the Native Languages Program.
Your role will prioritize creating a safe learning atmosphere while assessing and enhancing student engagement. Collaborate with other educators to ensure effective program delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster equity and inclusiveness in educational services
• Implement culturally safe and relevant instructional methods
• Monitor student success with continuous assessment practices
• Gather and interpret data for program improvement
• Mentor staff in supporting Indigenous students’ learning
Requirements:
• Active Ontario College of Teachers’ qualifications
• Proficiency in Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin)
• Cultural competence within Indigenous communities
• Knowledge of educational issues affecting Indigenous peoples
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
