In this impactful role, you will work at multiple Toronto schools, implementing educational strategies rooted in traditional practices that foster positive Indigenous identities. The Native Language Program allows students to thrive in a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere. Your expertise will guide the development of effective language acquisition skills and create assessment frameworks that empower First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster equity in program development and implementation
• Deliver culturally relevant instruction
• Assess and monitor student success continuously
• Mentor staff in Indigenous teaching practices
• Coordinate access to supports and interventions
Requirements:
• Good standing with Ontario College of Teachers
• Fluency in Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin) required
• Experience engaging with Indigenous communities
• Knowledge of Indigenous Education issues
• Proven ability to advocate for human rights
