Elementary Native Language Instructor

Position: Elementary Native Language Instructor Needed
Transform Indigenous education at Eastview Public School as a Native Language Instructor during the  school year. Focus on individualized, culturally rich learning experiences.

The Native Language Program aims to enhance educational outcomes for Indigenous students by providing tailored instruction. The candidate must be First Nations, Métis, or Inuit, with a strong belief in equity and addressing systemic racism. This role ensures that students thrive in a supportive, non-competitive educational environment that respects traditional practices and bolsters Indigenous identity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction in Native languages

• Integrate traditional practices into the curriculum

• Encourage students' positive Indigenous identity

• Promote academic achievement and well-being

• Advocate for equity and address racism in education

Requirements:

• First Nations, Métis, or Inuit heritage required

• Proven experience in anti-oppressive education methods

• Strong focus on equity in teaching

• Ability to deliver individualized learning

• Familiarity with wrap-around services for Indigenous students
