Join the University of Toronto as a Sessional Lecturer for a studio course on time-based media. Deliver an innovative curriculum focusing on audio, video, and interactive performances.
As part of the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape & Design, you will instruct students in VIS
203H1F, enhancing their understanding of time-based art from September 2026 to December 2026. Ideal candidates possess an MA or MFA, an active exhibition history, and significant experience in digital media. Responsibilities include preparing teaching materials, overseeing assistants, and grading assignments to ensure academic integrity in student evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver comprehensive course content
• Manage digital teaching tools and supervise assistants
• Create written assessments and handle examinations
• Grade projects and provide constructive feedback
• Respond to student queries and evaluation appeals
Requirements:
• MA or MFA or a recognized equivalent
• Proven teaching background with relevant subject matter
• Strong portfolio of exhibition-relevant digital media work
• Demonstrated professional artistic practice
• References may be requested
Lead students in exploring innovative art forms and foster their creative skills.
