Overview
A Training Specialist will lead training needs assessment, curriculum design, training material development, evaluation, and e‑learning authoring for Ontario health system users.
Responsibilities- Lead and conduct training needs assessment for all end‑users, aligning with OPS Change Management practices.
- Design a comprehensive curriculum and training resources.
- Provide project management to support initiative alignment to overall project timelines.
- Develop training materials for all end‑users, including guides, facilitation materials, online modules, etc.
- Conduct evaluation of the training initiative to determine required supports for continuous learning.
- Use e‑learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and Camtasia.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholder working groups, project team members, and Quality Assurance teams to determine training needs and curriculum.
- Present complex information to technical and non‑technical audiences and act as liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Participate in quality assurance testing and review processes.
- Facilitate or support facilitators with classroom sessions (in‑person/virtual).
- Manage and resolve issues in a timely manner, providing clear analysis of options.
- 2+ years experience providing training support on systems for Long‑Term Care, EMRs, HISs, Clinical Assessment tools, etc.
- Knowledge of personal health information protection legislative requirements.
- Knowledge of adult education theories, principles and practices.
- Experience facilitating adult learning programs using a variety of delivery methods.
- Experience leading training needs assessments and designing curricula.
- Experience developing training materials, evaluation and project management.
- Highly proficient with e‑learning authoring tools (Articulate 360), learning management systems, MS Office.
- Knowledge of Digital Service Standard, Ontario Design System, Service Design Playbook, OPS Change Management practices.
- Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, presentation, troubleshooting, listening, consulting skills.
- Leadership and people‑management skills.
- Motivated, flexible, detail‑oriented, creative team player with proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
- French proficiency beneficial but not essential.
Public Sector
Experience:
2+ years in healthcare training support for systems such as EMRs and HISs.
Adult Education
Experience:
Facilitation of adult learning programs.
Training Specialist
Experience:
Leading training needs assessment, designing curriculum, developing materials, evaluation, and project management.
Business & IT Knowledge: proficiency with digital services, accessibility, and digital service standards.
