232H1F on Language, Politics, and Identity at the University of Toronto. This in-person role requires a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and experience in online teaching.
As a Sessional Lecturer for the Faculty of Arts & Science, you'll conduct weekly tutorials and handle student evaluations and office hours. This position emphasizes language policy and identity in Slavic and East European contexts while also branching into global language issues.
Your role is pivotal in fostering a comprehensive understanding of language rights and conflicts in students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct 4-hour tutorials weekly
• Mark assignments and provide feedback to students
• Hold office hours for student inquiries
• Collaborate with course supervisor on course objectives
• Create written and oral prompts for student assessment
Requirements:
• Completed Ph.D. in Slavic Languages & Literatures
• Experience in online teaching preferred
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles
• Willingness to support TA tasks as needed
• Understanding of language policy issues
