Join the University of Toronto as a Sessional Lecturer for JAV
120H1F in Downtown Toronto. Teach courses on modernism and postmodernism from September to December 2026 and nurture future artists.
This position with the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape & Design aims to enrich students' understanding of the contemporary art landscape. Applicants should possess an MA or MFA and have a strong teaching background alongside a noteworthy exhibition history. Responsibilities include delivering lectures, supervising assistants, and marking student assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver lectures covering modernism and contemporary influences
• Supervise and coordinate with teaching assistants
• Prepare and assess assignments and examinations
• Manage student grades and respond to inquiries
• Conduct engaging course-related discussions with students
Requirements:
• MA or MFA required for consideration
• Documented teaching experience in art education
• Active artist with strong exhibition credentials
• Proven writing and publication record in contemporary art
• Preference for experience with diverse student populations
