The following Sessional Lecturer positions are available in the Department of Arts, Culture and Media for the Fall 2026 academic session. In accordance with the Collective Agreement, this posting is being sent as an email notification to all applicants in the Department’s Applicant Pool: all Sessional Lecturers who are teaching for the Department during the current academic year or who have taught for the Department since September 1, 2005, and all persons who have submitted an application within the past twenty-four months.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with 14:12.

Stipend Rate: In accordance with the current CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the stipend rate for a half course (Y, F or S), inclusive of vacation pay, will be:

Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term (Six or more years as SL I): $10,699.22

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Sessional Dates (excluding Exam period): F courses:
Sept. 8 – Dec. 8, 2026

Note: all positions involve completion of any course grading not finished by December 31, 2026 for F courses.

18H3F Raising Funds in Arts and Media

An advanced study of fundraising and resource development in the arts and media sector. This course facilitates a sophisticated understanding of knowledge and skills required for arts and media managers to develop varied revenue streams, including grant writing, media funding, and contributed revenue strategies to support artistic missions. Through group and individual assignments, the course culminates in pitch packages or grant applications for real‑life programs including creative briefs, budgets, financing plans, and timelines.

Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments and final portfolios; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.

Qualifications: Teaching experience in at least one course at the postsecondary level as TA or preferably instructor of record, direct development‑related expertise in the field, and significant experience working within the not‑for‑profit arts sector required; advanced university degree preferred.

This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

The position(s) posted above is (are) tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolments.

Courses must meet a minimum enrolment of more than 50 in order to qualify for TA hours.
