New College seeks a sessional lecturer for BPM
232H1S, focusing on Buddhism’s role in psychology. Engage students in meaningful exploration this winter.
This in-person course offers students insights into how Buddhism and psychology intersect over the last century. As a sessional lecturer, you will cover key themes like impermanence, suffering, and mindfulness. Classes are scheduled for Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM from January 1 to May 6, 2027, with 165 hours of TA support available.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and teach comprehensive course lectures
• Administer and evaluate assignments and tests
• Hold office hours for student engagement
• Develop course design and material
• Provide timely grading and feedback for student assessments
Requirements:
• Ph.D. in a relevant area nearing completion
• Previous teaching experience at the university level
• Knowledge of Buddhist and psychological theories
• Skills in course content delivery
• Commitment to enhancing student learning experiences
