332H1S, focusing on Buddhism and Psychotherapy. This position offers an in-person teaching opportunity from January 1, 2027, to May 6, 2027, at the St. George campus.
The New College’s program seeks a qualified lecturer with a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies, mindfulness, or psychology-related fields. As a sessional lecturer, you will develop course materials, facilitate engaging classes, and provide thorough feedback on assessments. Teaching experience is crucial for a positive learning environment, helping students explore the intersection of psychology and Buddhist practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and deliver engaging lectures
• Create and administer assignments and exams
• Provide accurate grading for all coursework
• Maintain office hours for student queries
• Adjust course delivery as needed
Requirements:
• Ph.D. completed or nearly completed in a related discipline
• Prior teaching experience at the university level
• Strong grasp of positive psychology and mindfulness
• Understanding of cognitive-behavioral therapy
• Familiarity with Buddhist philosophies and practices
