Position: Introductory Chinese I Lecturer Position

103H5F Introductory Chinese I. This position is perfect for educators with expertise in Chinese language teaching.

Opening for two positions for the term running from September 1 to December 31, 2026. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Chinese language pedagogy or a closely related field, with significant university-level teaching experience preferred. A (near)-native proficiency in Mandarin is crucial for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design course curriculum and deliver effective lessons

• Provide support to students through office hours and email

• Develop and grade assignments, tests, and exams

• Select necessary course readings

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in relevant education field

• Experience teaching university Chinese courses required

• Understanding of second language acquisition principles

• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese

• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness preferred
