Position: Teacher for Indigenous Learning Centre
Drive student engagement at the Native Learning Centre Downtown as a Secondary Teacher committed to culturally relevant education and the success of Indigenous students.

The Toronto District School Board invites applications for this dynamic teaching position. You will prioritize the improvement of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students' educational experiences by implementing effective Indigenous-centered teaching strategies. Collaborating with peers and the community, you will lead programs that elevate student well-being and identity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement culturally focused lesson plans

• Lead assessments to track student growth and needs

• Co-plan interdisciplinary initiatives with staff

• Guide the Indigenous community on educational issues

• Support the coordination of targeted student interventions

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario College of Teachers’ Certification

• Intermediate/Senior qualification mandatory

• Familiarity with Indigenous languages is advantageous

• Strong advocacy for Indigenous education rights

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
