Eligibility: Must have student status at York University. Preference will be given to York University students.

The Swim Instructor provides safe and effective supervision of the pool area and instruction for programs following the relevant policies and regulations under the direction of the Manager, Recreation Programs.

• Successful completion of all York University required trainings, including WHMIS, AODA and Health and Safety Training.
• Current aquatic instructor award from a recognized service provider (Lifesaving Society).
• Current Standard First Aid with CPR C from a national partner (Lifesaving Society, Red Cross, or St. John Ambulance).

All qualifications must remain current throughout the duration of employment.

• Previous work experience may be considered.

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to provide instruction and support others in developing knowledge or skills.
• Ability to promote an environment in which everyone feels engaged.
