Position: RECE or Primary/Junior OCT - Yonge St. & Lawrence Ave

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated RECE or Primary/Junior OCT Teacher (with the experience and skills to teach children both Preschool Ages 2.5 5 years old and Ages 6-9 years old) for our PREPSKILLS® Kindred Spirits Enrichment Programs held at our Yonge St. & Lawrence Ave. Toronto location.

About Kindred Spirits Enrichment Programs

Ages 2.5 to 5 years:
Children will enjoy transformational growth as they explore a cross-curricular program, while nurturing their love of learning!

Just like the life cycle of a butterfly, children will develop the skills to transform from caterpillar to butterfly!

Our theme-based programs emphasize lessons in Resilience, Resourcefulness, and Relationships while building Confidence through Creativity.

Ages 6 to 9 years:
Just when the Children thought the FUN was over, they became BUTTERFLIES!

Children will continue to Flutter with Confidence to develop Critical Thinking, Writing, Math, Reading, Speaking and Character Skills.

Our theme-based programs emphasize lessons in Risk-Taking, Responsibility, and Relationships while building Confidence through Creativity.

Duties include
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align for children Ages 2.5 years 9 years old.
  • Provide engaging and age-appropriate instruction in subjects such as English, Math, and Science, Art
  • Foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages student participation and creativity
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities etc) to motivate and stimulate childrens abilities
  • Collaborate with parents, staff to support student learning and development
  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
Skills
  • Proficiency in early childhood education and Grades 1-3 principles and practices
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Maintains a positive mindset toward child learning and social-emotional development
  • Experience creating age-appropriate curriculum
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools for classroom instruction
  • Passion for educating young learners and fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive growth
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Primary/Junior Ontario Certified Teacher or Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) qualifications
  • At least 1 year experience
  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field Early Childhood Education or Primary Junior OCT
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to create lessons, organize and manage location programs.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR AED Level C
  • Current and Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
  • Complete Toronto Public Health Medical and Immunization requirements
