The Toronto District School Board is seeking a dedicated Native Languages Teacher for a one-year term.
Your role will involve developing teaching models that assist Indigenous students in their language acquisition. Collaboration with staff and the principal is crucial to promote a positive learning atmosphere in alignment with Truth and Reconciliation values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct students in Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin) language
• Tailor lessons based on individual learning styles
• Incorporate traditional practices into the curriculum
• Support positive identity in Indigenous students
• Work collaboratively with education staff and school leadership
Requirements:
• Experience as a First Nations, Métis, or Inuit individual
• Proven ability to address racism and promote equity
• Comprehensive understanding of Indigenous educational frameworks
• Valid Teacher certification recognized by TDSB
• Strong commitment to an inclusive teaching community
