Course description
:
The MScAc degree is intended to create technical leaders capable of transferring new ideas and technologies from academia to industry. Companies seeking to develop innovative solutions to technology-related problems face a critical need for technically sophisticated professionals who are aware of advanced research ideas and can identify commercial opportunities for such ideas. These individuals will provide the conduit between university research and the world of industry, offering substantial benefits of both.

Class schedule: A maximum of four sections. LEC
5101 biweekly on Wednesdays 6:00pm-9:00pm; LEC
5201 biweekly on Wednesdays 6:00pm-9:00pm; LEC
5301 biweekly on Thursdays, 6:00pm-9:00pm; LEC
5401 bi-weekly on Thursdays 6:00pm-9:00pm;
Each lecture section will have three tutorial sections assigned to it;

the delivery method for this course is currently hybrid. In keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or the Department. The number of sections may be reduced to three, depending on the confirmed number of students registered for the Fall semester. Instructors will be advised ahead of an offer being made, should this be the case.
Sessional dates of appointment

Salary
: $4,500 per module (per section). Each module is equivalent to a 0.1 FCE load
The work the sessional will complete for each section of this course is equivalent to a 0.1 FCE load and thus the salary has been prorated here. The posted rate is the same for all sessional ranks and posted rates are inclusive of vacation pay.
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

:
While there is a lot of room for creativity in course delivery, instructors will be expected to follow the basic content and style used by the faculty members who normally teach the course, and must get approval from these faculty members or from the Academic Director of Professional Programs for any substantial changes to the course content or assessment methods. Instructors will also be expected to consult with the MScAC Program team when creating the course syllabus, assignments, tests, and if applicable - a final exam.
