Contribute to the University of Toronto's East Asian Studies program as a Sessional Lecturer for EAS
401H1F. Deliver impactful lectures in Mandarin focusing on fiction and non-fiction. The Department of East Asian Studies is looking for an experienced academic to lead the EAS
401H1F course. Candidates must have an MA or equivalent background, along with fluency in Mandarin.
Responsibilities will include preparing course materials, delivering lectures, and evaluating student progress, all while ensuring an inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct interactive lesson plans and lectures
- Assess and grade course assignments and exams
- Hold office hours for student consultations
- Employ established grading and evaluation techniques
- Create a welcoming learning workplace for diverse student groups
- MA in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- Fluency in the Mandarin language is required
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly
- Willingness to adhere to prescribed teaching methods
- Commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion
