Cantonese Classroom Inc. is a Toronto-based company dedicated to systematically passing down spoken Cantonese and Traditional Chinese characters. We provide premier in-person and online lessons, focusing on turning language acquisition into an engaging, structured, and rewarding experience for learners of all ages and backgrounds.
Driven by our specialized, in-house curriculum and progressive learning frameworks developed by our Director, we provide high-quality, individualized instruction.
We are currently expanding our team and are seeking a passionate Cantonese Teacher to deliver our established curriculum to children through our versatile learning formats.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Systemic Instruction: Teach engaging in-person or online Cantonese language lessons to children, closely following Cantonese Classroom’s specialized curriculum, teaching materials, and methodology.
- Class Preparation & Follow-Up: Manage lesson preparation and track student learning progress to ensure ongoing development.
- Language Proficiency: Native-level fluency in Cantonese, with strong proficiency in reading/writing Traditional Chinese and communicating in English.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Certifications & Clearances: A valid Standard First Aid with CPR certificate and a clean Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) are required prior to starting.
- Schedule Flexibility: Must be available to work during after-school hours and on weekends.

We provide our educators with thorough preparation and resources to support you in delivering our custom platform materials effectively.
- Training Phase: Comprehensive paid curriculum and language training is provided at $19/hour. This includes class observations to shadow experienced instructors, active co‑teaching, and practical lesson preparation. After completing your first 20 hours of training, a candidate review will take place to assess curriculum alignment.
- Teaching Rate: Post‑training, independent teaching rates range from $25 to $52/hour, depending on class size and performance.
