Elevate student writing skills as a Writing Instructor with CTL at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Deliver in-person and online tutoring for university-level academic writing.
CTL Writing Support offers three positions for Writing Instructors for Fall 2026/Winter 2027, focusing on tutoring and teaching critical writing skills. Ideal candidates will possess a Master’s degree and experience with a diverse student body. Responsibilities include one-to-one instruction, developing teaching materials, and collaborating on tailored workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach critical analysis, reading, and argumentation skills
• Offer one-on-one writing support across all disciplines
• Facilitate course-based writing retreats and group discussions
• Develop pedagogical materials aligning with best practices
• Support Writing Support programming and outreach activities
Requirements:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Experience teaching university-level writing
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Familiarity with various writing disciplines at UTSC
