Course Description:

An in-depth look at recruitment and selection practices in organizations. Students will learn about organizational recruitment strategies, the legal issues surrounding recruitment and selection, how to screen job applicants, and the role of employee testing and employee interviews in making selection decisions.

Qualifications:

Minimum:
Intensive study of organisational behaviour/HRM/IO psychology at the graduate level with a strong academic record; previous teaching experience in a similar course at the university level, or evidence of experience in teaching-related activities aligned to recruitment, selection, and talent acquisition; experience in course development and class management at the university level; demonstrated teaching excellence and currency in subject area; experience facilitating experiential or work-integrated learning components in a post-secondary context.

Preferred qualifications:

PhD in organisational behaviour, HRM, or IO psychology; previous experience teaching recruitment and selection or a closely related course at the university level with consistent, strong course evaluations; related professional experience in talent acquisition, HR consulting, or people analytics; demonstrated experience delivering and assessing WIL projects in a post-secondary context; familiarity with CHRP competency standards as they relate to HR course design.

Duties:

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact; supervision of the TA assigned to the course. Additionally: delivering and assessing Work-Integrated Learning project components in collaboration with EL staff support, including the co-op student behavioural interview activity that is part of the course's standard delivery.
