Part‑Time High School Math & Science Teacher/Tutor
Oxford Learning Scarborough Bluffs is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys mathematics and science, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.
Teacher‑tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson‑plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements- Work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) as well as Saturdays (10:00 am – 2:00 pm).
- Commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better.
- Reliable attendance is a must.
- Position is in‑person; applicants must be able to commute to the location. Relocation packages are not available.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Third‑ and fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math (Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus) and physics, chemistry, and biology.
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9‑to‑12 level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
- Deliver instruction in‑person and, when required, on‑line via Zoom.
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

- Evenings (Monday to Thursday).
- Saturday availability.
From $18.00 per hour.
