Sessional Lecturer – Environmental Ethics
This position, offered by the Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Mississauga, will teach the course “Environmental Ethics” for the Fall 2026 academic session. The course examines philosophical questions regarding the ethical significance of the non‑human world and evaluates anthropocentrism, ecofeminism, and radical biocentric theories.

Salary- Sessional LecturerI: $9,997.48 (includes 4% vacation pay)

- Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term: $10,953.96 (includes 6% vacation pay)
- Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.96 (includes 6% vacation pay)
- Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term: $11,228.90 (includes 6% vacation pay)

- Design, prepare, and deliver course content.
- Develop, administer, and grade assignments.
- Calculate and submit final grades.
- Hold regular office hours.
- Complete any course grading not finished by December
2026.
- PhD in philosophy (in‑hand or expected).
- Prior experience as a course instructor, preferably in philosophy at U of T.
- Advanced knowledge of environmental ethics and related theories.
- Teaching experience covering the course content.
- Record of research achievement is an asset.
