Course description:
Descriptions of children's pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar at various stages of learning their first language. Theories of the linguistic knowledge and cognitive processes that underlie and develop along with language learning.

In accordance with the current CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the stipend rate for a half course (Y, F or S), inclusive of vacation pay, will be the above. If rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Linguistics or a closely related discipline. Strong academic record and professional promise. Previous experience teaching language acquisition, psycholinguistics or a comparable course required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those with a background in First Language Acquisition.

Responsibilities

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
