Salary Range:
This position is part of the Alliance des administrateurs et éducateurs de la Toronto French School union. Salaries are determined according to a structured grid that takes into account the nature of the position and the candidate’s professional experience. The hourly salary range for this position is: $32.90 - $37.23

About the position

Under the supervision of the Director or their delegate, the Coordinator of Student Life Activities will be responsible for the organization, promotion, and supervision of co-curricular activities and student events for the Primary School. This role aims to enrich the student experience, encourage participation, and develop leadership among students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and organization of co-curricular, extracurricular activities, and clubs:
    Design, plan, coordinate, and evaluate a varied program of student activities (clubs, social events, cultural outings, etc.) that meets the diverse interests of primary students.
  • Assistance with the coordination of major branch activities:
    In coordination with LPE and Sr school and in collaboration with Primary School members, help organize Terry Fox, the JS Triathlon, Orange Shirt Day, Kindness Week, Spirit Week, and other events.
  • Support for student initiatives:
    Supervise and support approved student initiatives, ensuring compliance with school policies.
  • Promotion and communication:
    Actively promote student life activities to students, parents, and staff, using various communication channels (posters, social media, newsletters).
  • Collaboration:

    Work in close collaboration with the leadership team, administrative and teaching staff, and parents to integrate student life with the school's overall educational mission.
  • Supervision and safety:
    Ensure the supervision and safety of students during activities and events, including field trips and evening or weekend events, where applicable.
  • Leadership Development:
    Implement programs aimed at developing students’ leadership skills, such as ambassadors and house leaders.
  • Budget Oversight:
    Work in collaboration with the Finance team to ensure adherence to budgets for all activities and trips.
  • Platform Coordination:
    Create and coordinate activities on the Veracross platform.
The person we are looking for

We recruit candidates who demonstrate our values of integrity, discernment, respect, and engagement. The ideal profile is as follows:

  • University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in a relevant field (Education, Recreation, Administration, Communication, or other).
  • Significant experience (minimum 3 years) in coordinating activities for children, adolescents, or in a school environment (Secondary School or post-secondary).
  • Excellent proficiency in French, both oral and written (native level or equivalent), essential for communication with Francophone students, staff, and parents.
  • Conversational English (minimum B2 level), required to interact with the entire school community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity, dynamism, and passion for the holistic development of young people.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
