Upper Elementary Classroom Assistant
Westside Montessori School is hiring a full-time Classroom Assistant for our Upper Elementary classroom at our Dufferin Grove campus. This classroom serves students in Grades 4–6.
The role includes supporting the students’ Montessori work, assisting with the daily flow of the classroom, and working closely with the classroom guide to help maintain a calm, organized, and respectful learning environment.
Hours are 8:15 a.m.–4:45 p.m., Monday to Friday
. The expected start date is August 31st
, with the possibility of an earlier start.

- enjoy spending time outdoors, as outdoor time, walks, and excursions are part of the school week.
No Montessori training or formal teaching experience is required, though experience working with children is an asset. The successful candidate should be interested in supporting children’s independence, confidence, and growth within a child-centred learning environment.
Responsibilities- assisting the classroom guide in preparing, tidying, and maintaining the classroom and materials;
- supporting students in choosing appropriate work and following classroom routines;
- helping ensure lessons and focused work periods are respected;
- supporting students in problem-solving and resolving conflicts;
- welcoming and dismissing students at arrival and dismissal;
- observing students and sharing relevant notes with the classroom guide;
- supporting practical-life tasks, outdoor time, community walks, and excursions;
- contributing to end‑of‑day duties and shared team responsibilities.
A candidate who is comfortable cycling may have the opportunity to discuss additional paid hours related to commuting with children by bike.

- Schedule: 8‑hour shift; day shift;
Monday to Friday - Location: Dufferin Grove, Toronto
- Salary Range: $38,000–$42,000, based on experience and education
- Benefits: Dental care and vision care
