Persian Language Lecturer at University

The University of Toronto is hiring a sessional lecturer for intermediate and advanced Persian language courses in the Faculty of Arts & Science. Candidates should hold a PhD in Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations or related field. Responsibilities include preparing course content, grading assignments and exams, and holding regular office hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver engaging course content

• Develop, administer, and grade assignments and tests

• Maintain regular office hours for student support

• Calculate and submit grades for all enrolled students

• Perform administrative tasks related to course management

Requirements:

• PhD in Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations or equivalent

• Subject matter expertise in Persian language instruction

• Preferred experience in teaching Persian at an advanced level

• Strong communication skills and commitment to student engagement

• Ability to manage course responsibilities effectively
