Position: 19th and 20th Century Philosophy Lecturer
Transform student understanding as a Sessional Lecturer for the PHL
420H5 course in 19th and 20th Century Philosophy at UofT Mississauga. This role focuses on advanced seminars that incite thought-provoking discussions.

As part of the Philosophy Department, this in-person position is open for Fall 2026. Candidates with a PhD in philosophy and notable teaching experience at U of T will excel. An advanced familiarity with philosophical figures and ongoing research involvement are desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver course materials for PHL
420H5

• Facilitate in-depth discussions on key philosophical themes

• Assess and grade student coursework

• Submit final grades and maintain academic records

• Provide office hours to engage with students

Requirements:

• Doctorate in philosophy or related area

• Experience as a course instructor, ideally at U of T

• Comprehensive knowledge of 19th and 20th philosophy

• Research experience viewed positively

• Complete remaining grading by December 2026

Lead philosophical exploration and mentorship at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
