OCAD University seeks a Sessional Instructor for Art Direction:
Commentary for Fall 2026-27. This role focuses on teaching typography's role in socially impactful advertising communications.
This temporary position requires a Bachelor’s degree in advertising or graphic design and ideally two years of undergraduate teaching experience. The successful applicant will develop course outlines, deliver studio sessions, and provide feedback on student work in a collaborative learning environment. This role emphasizes maintaining health and safety standards while fostering an inclusive atmosphere for diverse students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop course outlines and prepare studio sessions
• Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate critiques
• Provide constructive feedback on student assignments
• Guide students through iterative design processes
• Draft course-based Research Ethics Board applications
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in advertising, graphic design, or related field
• Strong communication skills and capacity for independent teaching
• Proven commitment to equity and diversity
• Experience in iterative design processes
• Eligible to work in Canada
