Position Title: French/Social Science Teacher

Location: Future Hope Academy Christian School, 3000 Lawrence Ave. E, Building B,Scarborough.

Position Type: Part-Time/Full-Time/Fixed Term Contract

Pay Rate: $26-32 per hour

Start Date: September 6, 2026

Position

Summary

We are seeking a passionate and qualified French/Social Science Teacher to join our faculty. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to Christian education, and the ability to integrate biblical principles into classroom instruction while inspiring students to develop academically, spiritually, and socially.

Responsibilities Teaching and Learning
  • Teach Ontario curriculum in Bible and Christian Studies courses to students of Grades 7–12.
  • Develop and implement engaging, biblically sound lesson plans aligned with the ministry/school's curriculum.
  • Integrate faith-based principles with contemporary issues and student life
  • Foster spiritual growth through classroom instruction, prayer, discipleship, and mentorship.
  • Integrate a Christian worldview into teaching and student interactions.
  • Skill in designing assessments aligned with the Ontario Curriculum and Growing Success
  • Knowledge of the seven fundamental principles of assessment.
  • Strong organizational and lesson planning skills
  • Experience in course development with course binder.
  • Teach high school French courses in accordance with the Ontario curriculum and school expectations.
  • Teach Social Science courses, including subjects such as Family Studies, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, or related disciplines.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans, assessments, and learning activities that support student achievement.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and progress.
Christian Leadership
  • Integrate a biblical worldview into classroom instruction and discussions.
  • Model Christian character, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Participate in school chapels, prayer meetings, devotions, and spiritual life activities.
  • Encourage students in their faith development and Christian service.
Student Support
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to promote student success.
  • Provide academic support and mentorship to students as needed.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, parent‑teacher conferences, and school events.
  • Contribute to extracurricular programs and the broader school community.
  • Support the school's mission, vision, and statement of faith.
Qualifications

Experience teaching French and Social Sciences in a Christian educational setting will be considered a strong asset.

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification recognized in Ontario (OCT preferred).
  • Qualifications and experience teaching French and/Social Science courses at the secondary level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
Preferred
  • Experience teaching in a Christian school environment.
  • French language proficiency suitable for teaching secondary‑level French courses.
  • Additional qualifications in Social Sciences, Family Studies, or related disciplines.
  • Experience integrating faith and learning across the curriculum.
