Role Overview

The Learning & Development Specialist is primarily responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs for Business Operation staff, including Processing and Call Center functions.
The Learning & Development Specialist leads the development and delivery of high-quality learning solutions using adult learning best practices. Working collaboratively with internal clients and subject matter experts, the incumbent identifies learning needs, leads training initiatives,and implements solutions that address knowledge gaps and support business objectives.
Success in this role requires strong organizational,communication, facilitation, project management, and problem-solving skills,along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities Design and Development
  • Lead learning initiatives by conducting needs assessments, defining objectives, capturing scope and requirements, identifying risks and dependencies, recommending solutions, setting milestones, managing expectations, and evaluating effectiveness.
  • Develop learning content for remote and classroom training including lesson plans and scripts, participant materials, practical exercises, and engaging activities.
  • Create professional instructional materials for self-paced learning (e-learning, videos, training scripts, quizzes, job aids, etc.)
  • Develop learning exercises, simulations, test cases, and assessments that reinforce key concepts and support skill development through practical application.
  • Activelycollect learner feedback and training metrics to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Facilitation
  • Facilitate complex, high-impact training programs by adapting delivery methods to learner needs and business requirements.
  • Facilitate classroom learning by leveraging effective facilitation techniques, such as leading group and individual activities, asking questions to guide discussion, redirecting participants toward task completion, and maintaining professionalism while managing overall class dynamics.
  • Provide support and follow-up to learners and business partners following training activities.
  • Coordinate logistics for learning events and prepare training resources, including test cases and TRAIN environments.
Teamwork and Partnership
  • Work independently and exercise judgment to plan, prioritize, and deliver learning programs.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and communicate project status effectively.
  • Provide onboarding and support to new L&D specialists.
  • Document team standards, streamline team processes, and recommend process improvements.
Technology Skills
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to technologies, processes, and assets to enhance learner experience and operational efficiency.
  • Create eLearning modules using Articulate 360 or other authoring tools.
  • Maintain and enhance test cases to support training activities.
  • Configure and manage TRAIN environments for test scenarios.
  • Optimize and maintain learning assets in the Learning Management System (LMS) and SharePoint to support learning delivery and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain user records in Clever Nelly and continuously improve the questions database in the tool.
