University Computer Science Instructor

Become an instructor for a pivotal Capstone Design Project course at the University of Toronto. This 0.5 FCE in-person role focuses on collaborative, real-world problem-solving.

The University of Toronto invites experienced sessional lecturers to teach CSC
490H1S from January to April 2027. You will mentor a small cohort of students in designing and implementing web-scale systems through interactive lessons. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills along with a graduate degree in Computer Science and relevant teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver lectures that inspire creativity

• Administer course logistics, including assessments and websites

• Offer office hours for student inquiries

• Oversee TA responsibilities and course grading

• Invigilate exams and coordinate grades

Requirements:

• Master’s in Computer Science or a related field

• Extensive expertise in software systems required

• Strong track record in university-level teaching preferred

• Prior experience with APIs and real-time systems needed

• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
