Position Overview

Toronto STEM School is seeking passionate and knowledgeable instructors to teach Advanced Placement (AP) courses through live online instruction.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging virtual lessons, develop instructional materials and assessments, and help students build the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed on AP examinations.

This position begins with approximately 2.25–4.5 teaching hours per week, with classes scheduled during weekday evenings. Additional teaching opportunities may become available based on enrolment and program growth.

The Successful Candidate

You are someone who:

  • Has strong subject knowledge in your area of expertise.
  • Can confidently teach students at the AP level.
  • Enjoys inspiring and supporting students.
  • Can design effective lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally.

Previous experience teaching AP or IB courses is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare students for College Board AP examinations.
  • Develop lesson plans, learning materials, assignments, and assessments.
  • Create individualized study plans based on students' strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Conduct practice exams and review results to help students improve.
  • Teach effective study techniques, exam strategies, and time management skills.
  • Foster a supportive and motivating learning environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline (Master's degree is an asset).
  • Strong academic background in the subject area.
  • Experience teaching secondary or post-secondary students.
  • Experience teaching AP or IB courses is preferred.
  • Ability to engage students with diverse learning styles.
  • Excellent communication and online teaching skills.
