Karate Instructor at West End YMCA

Make a difference in youth fitness at the West End YMCA as a Karate Instructor. Guide students in building martial arts skills while ensuring a safe, supportive environment.

This contract part-time role requires delivering the YMCA Karate Program, crafting engaging weekly lesson plans, and tracking participant progress. You’ll also assist with gradings and communicate with parents about their child's development and performance. Your ability to connect with participants will enrich their learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct students in YMCA Karate curriculum

• Develop sequential lesson plans tailored to participant needs

• Assist in grading evaluations for participants

• Monitor attendance and progress sheets for record-keeping

• Build relationships with members and promote YMCA values

Requirements:

• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification

• Minimum 1 year active Karate training experience

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Flexibility in working various shifts, including weekends

• Commitment to diversity and child safety
