School 2.0 is a learning centre focused on helping students build strong academic skills while also developing creativity, problem solving, confidence, and practical abilities. We are looking to expand our Robotics, Coding and Engineering program with an instructor who can bring both technical knowledge and hands on project experience into the classroom.
This is not simply a coding instructor position. We are looking for someone who enjoys building things, experimenting, designing projects, troubleshooting, and helping children progress from basic concepts to increasingly advanced challenges.
The RoleWe are looking for a Robotics, Coding & Engineering Instructor who can teach children through a combination of coding, robotics, engineering challenges, electronics, design, and hands on building projects.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable taking a concept from an idea to a working project. This could include building small robots, mechanical systems, structures, circuits, sensor based projects, simple machines, automated devices, or other age appropriate engineering projects.
Equally important, we are looking for someone who understands how children develop skills over time. You should be able to assess what a student can currently do, identify the next appropriate challenge, and help us develop a structured learning pathway that moves students from beginner to intermediate and eventually more advanced levels.
Key Responsibilities- Teach engaging robotics, coding, engineering, and technology lessons to children
- Design hands on projects where students build, test, modify, and improve their own creations
- Introduce students to engineering concepts such as structures, mechanisms, gears, motors, sensors, circuits, simple machines, and design thinking
- Teach coding through age appropriate platforms, programming languages, robotics kits, or development environments
- Guide students through the complete project process from planning and designing to building, coding, troubleshooting, testing, and presenting
- Create different levels of difficulty so both beginners and more experienced students remain challenged
- Develop a clear progression pathway showing what students should learn at each stage of the program
- Help create lesson plans, project sequences, learning objectives, and curriculum materials
- Assess individual student abilities and recommend appropriate next steps
- Adapt projects for different ages, learning speeds, and ability levels
- Encourage students to think independently, experiment, solve problems, and learn from unsuccessful designs
- Maintain and organize robotics kits, electronics, tools, components, and project materials
- Help School 2.0 continuously develop new robotics, STEM, coding, and engineering programs
We are particularly interested in candidates who are both technical and hands on.
You may be a strong fit if you have experience with some of the following:
- Robotics education
- Coding or computer science education
- Engineering projects
- Electronics and circuits
- Arduino
- Raspberry Pi
- LEGO robotics or similar robotics platforms
- Microcontrollers
- Sensors, motors, servos, and basic automation
- Mechanical building and prototyping
- 3D design or 3D printing
- Scratch or block based programming
- Python
- Web development or other programming languages
- STEM education
- Makerspaces or maker programs
- Science and engineering clubs
- Curriculum development or lesson planning
You do not need to know every platform listed above. We are more interested in finding someone who understands how things work, enjoys building and experimenting, and is capable of learning new tools quickly.
Curriculum and Student ProgressionA major part of this role is helping us build a strong developmental program rather than a collection of disconnected activities.
We want students to be able to start with fundamental concepts and gradually progress toward more sophisticated projects.
For example, a beginner may start by understanding basic sequencing, simple circuits, motors, structures, and block based programming. As their skills develop, they may progress into sensors, robotics, electronics, mechanical systems, programming logic, automation, prototyping, and larger integrated engineering projects.
