Description:

Building Science 1 is the first of four Master of Architecture Building Science Core Courses. In this introductory course, students are exposed to topics from Building Materials, Detailing, Site Engineering, Structures, and Building Science. These subject matters are studied in the broad context of how ecology, culture, and technology is interlinked with Architectural Thinking and Design. The applicant will assist a primary Building Science course instructor who as developed the course assignments and curriculum.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of contemporary architectural pedagogy and the current state of the discipline, at both practical and theoretical levels, is highly desirable.

Duties: Attending meetings required by studio coordinator;
Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.

This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
