OCAD University seeks a Sessional Instructor for its Art Direction course starting in Fall 2026-27. Drive student engagement and creativity through hands-on teaching and innovative design methodologies.
This role is centered around teaching 'The Idea Behind Art Direction,' with a focus on techniques, theory, and practical assignments. Candidates will be involved in course planning, delivering lectures, and helping students through the creative process while maintaining a constructive and inclusive learning space.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and implement comprehensive course outlines and lectures
• Mentor students through iterative design and research practices
• Provide critical feedback on studio work and assessments
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive studio environment
• Monitor compliance with academic and safety protocols
Requirements:
• Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• Background in advertising, graphic design, or a related field
• Teaching experience in design disciplines is a plus
• Commitment to fostering diversity and equity
• Ability to mentor and support independent research
