Position Overview

As a Teacher‑Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math, and French and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. All lessons are pre‑planned, allowing you to focus on teaching.

Position Requirements
  • Availability during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
  • Commitment through to the end of the 2026‑27 school year (June 30), with possibility of continuing through summer
  • In‑person role; must be able to commute to the location; relocation packages not available
  • Vulnerable sector screening mandatory
  • Resume must indicate residence within a short commute of North York area
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
  • Third‑year university students with tutoring experience considered
  • Teaching certification in progress or obtained is an asset
  • Good knowledge of K‑12 curriculum
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring K‑12 or equivalent level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills; ability to guide student understanding
  • French teaching desired
  • Ability to multitask with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
  • Teach up to three students at a time in Elementary grades or up to two students in Grades 9‑12
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, create fun learning environment
Schedule
  • Evenings, Monday‑Friday
  • Saturday availability
