TAC Sports is seeking a Vocal & Singing Teacher to lead engaging and interactive music programming for children. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for singing and music who enjoys working with children and can create a fun, encouraging, and supportive learning environment.
The program introduces students to the fundamentals of singing and vocal performance while helping them develop their confidence, musicality, and self-expression. Through vocal exercises, singing activities, music games, and performance opportunities, students will build their skills while developing a greater appreciation for music.
Key Responsibilities- Lead vocal and singing sessions in a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment
- Teach students fundamental vocal techniques
, including breathing, pitch, tone, projection, and vocal control - Lead warm-ups and vocal exercises appropriate for different ages and skill levels
- Teach students proper singing techniques and healthy vocal habits
- Introduce students to basic music concepts such as rhythm, melody, harmony, and musical expression
- Help students develop confidence and comfort when singing individually and in groups
- Teach and rehearse age-appropriate songs with students
- Encourage students to explore their own musical style, creativity, and self-expression
- Provide constructive and encouraging feedback to help students improve their vocal abilities
- Organize individual, partner, and group singing activities
- Prepare students for informal performances, showcases, or presentations when applicable
- Create an inclusive environment where students feel comfortable participating and trying new things
- Adapt lessons and activities to accommodate different skill levels and learning styles
- Supervise students throughout activities, transitions, and breaks to ensure safety and positive behaviour
- Assist with program setup, cleanup, material preparation, and activity organization
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and TAC Sports staff
- Follow TAC Sports' program plans, safety procedures, and child supervision standards at all times
- Experience teaching or working with children in music, education, recreation, performing arts, or youth programs
- Strong background in singing and vocal performance
- Knowledge of vocal technique, music theory, and basic musical concepts
- Comfortable singing and performing in front of groups
- Energetic, patient, creative, and enthusiastic when working with children
- Strong communication, organization, and group management skills
- Ability to make singing and music lessons fun, engaging, and accessible for students
- Ability to adapt instruction to different ages, abilities, and confidence levels
