Make a difference in children's lives at Makom After school as a Hebrew-Language Teaching Assistant. Foster social-emotional development and create a lively, welcoming space for learners.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants to support education for young Jewish learners in downtown Toronto. This role involves working closely with teachers to assist in classroom management and ensuring student safety. You will also create engaging Hebrew-language opportunities through conversation and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure safe transportation of students from schools
• Partner with teachers for classroom support and management
• Maintain a welcoming and inclusive community atmosphere
• Assist in tracking student belongings
• Document learning experiences for administration
Requirements:
• Hebrew proficiency is mandatory; fluency preferred
• Knowledge of Jewish studies and traditions
• Experience in teaching or youth engagement roles
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Passion for working closely with children
