Substitute Teacher at Explorer Academy

Easterseals Florida seeks a Substitute Teacher for its Explorer Academy, focusing on flexible, as-needed classroom support. Engage with children in a safe environment while implementing lesson plans.

In this role, you will assist in maintaining an organized and stimulating learning space. As a Substitute Teacher, your responsibilities include following the classroom curriculum, supervising children, and contributing to their social and emotional growth. This position is critical during staff absences and high census periods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide coverage in classrooms for different ages

• Execute lesson plans from the teaching staff

• Supervise children and uphold safety standards

• Assist in daily activities and maintain cleanliness

• Ensure positive interactions with children and families

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED

• Experience in early childhood education preferred

• Completion of CPR and First Aid courses

• Adherence to Florida Department of Children & Families standards

• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
