The Karate Instructor will lead on-site karate classes at The Creative Child’s Toronto, ON location, teaching students foundational techniques, forms, and discipline in a safe and encouraging environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning age-appropriate lesson plans, demonstrating and supervising drills, providing individual feedback, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The instructor will foster respect, focus, and confidence in learners, manage class behavior, and communicate progress and concerns to program coordinators and caregivers as needed.

This is a contract role that requires consistent scheduled availability and active participation in program meetings and occasional special events.

• Strong proficiency in Karate and Shotokan Karate, with the ability to demonstrate techniques clearly and safely.
• Experience in Martial Arts and Martial Arts Instruction, including group class management and skills progression.
• Proven Teaching skills, especially with children and youth in recreational or educational settings.
• Relevant martial arts certification or belt rank from a recognized organization.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
• Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a safe training space, including basic knowledge of injury prevention and first aid (formal first aid/CPR certification preferred).
• Availability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, according to program schedules.
