About Vincent Massey Academy Vincent Massey Academy (“VMA”) has been serving families in the Etobicoke community since 1985. Our Day School provides a personalized educational experience for students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, with small class sizes of 13–15 students and an inquiry-based approach that allows teachers to build strong relationships with their students and tailor instruction to their individual strengths, needs, and interests.

The Opportunity We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 4/5 Teacher to join our Day School faculty in a full-time, 18-month contract position, with the opportunity for extension. The successful candidate will begin training and onboarding on November 30, 2026 on a part-time basis, before assuming responsibility for a combined Grade 4/5 classroom beginning January 4, 2027. For the 2027–28 school year, the teaching assignment may be within any Primary/Junior classroom from Grades 1–6.As

What You'll Do
· Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Ontario curriculum
· Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
· Create inquiry-based and experiential learning opportunities that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking
· Assess and document student progress using a variety of formative and summative strategies
· Create structured lesson plans and supplemental materials for teaching absences
· Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and valued
· Support the academic, social-emotional, and overall development of students
· Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student progress and learning goals
· Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular learning, student needs, and school initiatives
· Contribute to the broader VMA community through school events, field trips, projects, and initiatives
· Uphold and promote VMA’s mission, vision, and values in all interactions

What You'll Need
· Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from an accredited institution
· Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in Good Standing
· Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate teaching qualifications
· Minimum of one year of teaching experience with students at the Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate level
· Strong knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and current instructional and assessment practices
· Strong classroom management and organizational skills
