Building Automation System Operating Technologist (night shift)
The RCC Operating Technologist is responsible for remotely operating Building Automation Systems (BAS) in BGIS‑managed client facilities. You will implement day‑to‑day operator level control changes, review trend data to support troubleshooting efforts, implement changes for energy and operational optimization initiatives, and coordinate corrective actions for complex issues.

Duties & Responsibilities
On‑going Operations
Respond to demand service requests for BAS/Control related issues to diagnose and rectify.
Provide remote technical support to on‑site technician team via phone support system.
Monitor alarms and dispatch work orders for critical/high priority alerts.
Optimize facility uptime and asset integrity of assigned facility.
Monitor system performance and fault events, perform corrective and demand service maintenance on BAS to achieve facility uptime, uninterrupted client operations, occupant comfort, asset integrity, and energy and operating cost objectives.
Coordinate maintenance repairs and implement temporary overrides to minimize impact while awaiting services.
Address frequent failures with site team and vendor, identify, record, and elevate deficiencies while maintaining related documentation.
Ensure remote platforms are up‑to‑date.
Receive, action, track, and report status of maintenance and repair work within the work order management system, including progress and resolution notes.
Perform work in accordance with established processes and practices.
Comply with all internal and external requirements, including environmental and health and safety.
Train junior operator team members (as required) on daily operations processes and troubleshooting.
Must be able to work shifts, be on‑call, and be available to respond to emergencies.
Client Relations
Provide observations about facility building automation equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies, and suggest enhancements and repairs.
Assist in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction. Maintain positive relations through the manner in which work is performed and delivered.
Administration
Record resolution data within the service maintenance management database; ensure work completed meets quality, contract response, and all other requirements.
Track, monitor, and report status of maintenance and repair work within the service maintenance management database.
Initiate documents to obtain formal approval of required work.
Participate in and assist with facility‑related projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Project Support
Work with building operators and site managers to identify operational and energy savings in BAS operations.
Develop recommendations for BAS system changes and implement approved changes, which may include working with contractors and BAS vendors for programming and remote portal development coordination.
Provide input to project teams and/or BAS vendors on scope and remote portal requirements.
Knowledge & Skills
College diploma in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
BAS or Building Operations courses (asset).
Remote BAS operation for multiple facilities (3 years).
Demonstrated proficiency with BAS navigation, data‑trend setting and extractions, troubleshooting (3 years).
Medium to advanced skills in word processing and spreadsheet data manipulation and analysis tools (3 years).
Familiarity with integration concepts and platforms such as BACnet systems (1 year).
Operational experience in fault detection platform (asset).
Good knowledge of optimization and energy management strategy for BAS (3 years).
Strong ability to adhere to and properly execute processes and practices related to facility operations and maintenance (3 years).
Strong client‑service orientation and high sense of urgency (3 years).
Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification (3 years).
Mentoring skills required to support junior BAS operator development (asset).
Must be available for on‑call/standby and emergency calls as they arise; occasional extended hours (must be available).
