Summerhill seeks  Field Sales Representatives  for the  Save on Energy Small Business Program (SBP)  in Toronto. This is more than just a sales role — whether you're a recent graduate with a background in environmental studies, energy systems, or sustainable development, or an experienced outside sales professional that has a passion for sustainability this is your chance to turn passion into impact.

While enthusiasm for sustainability is important, success in this role depends on your ability to engage with small businesses in the field and drive participation through direct, face-to-face sales .  As an Energy Assessor/Field Representative, you'll promote sustainability, support local small businesses, and play a hands-on role in advancing climate action

Role Overview
As an Energy Assessor, you’ll play a key role in supporting the  Save on Energy Small Business Program , a province-wide initiative that helps small businesses reduce their carbon footprint through efficient lighting and other energy-saving upgrades.

Join the Small Business Program (SBP), part of the transformative Save On Energy initiatives. You'll help them identify and retrofit inefficient lighting and non-lighting systems, all while providing free assessments that could unlock up to $3,000 in lighting incentives and $2,500 in non-lighting incentives!

Key Responsibilities

Travel within assigned areas to conduct on-site energy assessments for small businesses

Educate business owners about energy-saving opportunities and available incentives through the Save on Energy program.

Use a  sales-based approach  to build rapport and encourage participation in energy-saving upgrades

Provide clear, accurate, and engaging information to various businesses, including retail, restaurants, offices, and more.

Maintain exceptional customer service standards while supporting meaningful climate solutions at the community level.

Skills and Qualifications
This role is especially well-suited for recent graduates or individuals interested in green careers, sustainability, or gaining real-world experience in the energy and environmental sectors.

Post-secondary education or equivalent experience — environmental science, sustainability, energy systems, or related fields is an asset

Previous sales or outreach experience preferred

A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are assets

Comfortable leading conversations, presenting information, and educating others about sustainable energy solutions

Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Computer literate; ability to use tablets and mobile tools for reporting and assessment

Multilingual skills are a plus, but not required

Technical knowledge of lighting systems is helpful but not necessary — training provided
